Blog -GET SERIOUS- SO…You think you’re a leader? 1-2 “Where do you think all these appalling wars and quarrels come from? Do you think they just happen? Think again. They come about because you want your own way, and fight for it deep inside yourselves. You lust for what you don’t have and are willing to kill to get it. You want what isn’t yours and will risk violence to get your hands on it.” It’s funny when you think about intentions, perspectives, wants, desires. Most people now days wouldn’t sit back and wonder… ”What if I just asked for it?” Are we afraid of rejection? Are we afraid to fully understand why somethings are closed off and why other doors of opportunity are opened? Is there a bigger picture? 2-3 “You wouldn’t think of just asking God for it, would you? And why not? Because you know you’d be asking for what you have no right to. You’re spoiled children, each wanting your own way.” It’s a hard pill to swallow for any of us. Why do I “feel” like I’m entitled to anything I ask for in life. What have I truly done to make life a meaningful one? Am I the only one striving for this particular goal? Am I the “Chosen one?” No lol, not in the slightest! If that was true, no one would have similar goals in life. It boils down to perspective and reason. Why are you chasing after the goals and dreams you’ve accumulated? Is it for self-gain? Is it for a bigger purpose? 4-6 “You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that; God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble.’ Now before we go into our beliefs and perspectives let’s just hang on to this last paragraph for a second. Could it be there is a God that fiercely loves you and is jealous against any obstacle that defers you from such an extravagant calling or purpose? Would a father allow his daughter to fall in love with another individual that has no intentions other than is his own desires and goals? Would a loving parent allow her children to touch a burning stove knowing the consequences? Of course not! This last paragraph in conclusion I hope makes you truly aware of your every decision, the words you choose to either inspire or guide someone around you. Whether it’s showing it through actions or giving encouraging words of wisdom. 7-10 “So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.” 11-12 “Don’t bad-mouth each other, friends. It’s God’s Word, his Message, his Royal Rule, that takes a beating in that kind of talk. You’re supposed to be honoring the Message, not writing graffiti all over it. God is in charge of deciding human destiny. Who do you think you are to meddle in the destiny of others?” I believe that everyone’s perspective on belief is crafted off the words we choose and the actions we implement in our everyday life. Remember to watch your words and intentions very carefully, we all have an impact on this society. The real question we all have to ask ourselves is, Will you choose to uplift and inspire people to grow and help water their roots? Or follow in the traditional plague society has fomented into this generation? Whatever you choose please remember one thing, no matter what; YOU ARE a leader and we can choose to help each other or to use one another. I personally believe WE CAN all grow together but we first have to sacrifice everything, kill our ego, know ourselves and our every intention. Only then can we start being fruitful with every single person we come across in life. Let’s stop ridiculing people for their downfalls and start uplifting them to an even greater understanding of life! So today I challenge myself to GET SERIOUS, and I challenge you to do the same! -Ryan Camargo “Quotations” from: The Message Bible – James 4:1-12
